Distribution of Spring 2025 MCAP Score Reports
Westlake High School will begin distributing Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) score reports for the spring 2025 tests during the week of September 22, 2025. The reports will be sent home with students through their English classes. Virtual and early college students will receive their reports in the mail.
What is on the score report?
The Individual Student Report (ISR) provides a detailed breakdown of your child's performance on the MCAP tests.
- Overall Performance: Your child will receive an overall score in each subject, placing them in one of four performance levels.
- Score Comparisons: The report shows how your child performed compared to other students in their school, district, and across the state.
- Detailed Breakdown: You can see how your child performed in different skill sets within each subject, highlighting areas where they excel and areas needing improvement.
What to do with the results
The MCAP score report should be considered one of many tools to understand your child's academic progress. Use the results to start a conversation with their teachers and counselors. They can help you understand the scores in the context of classroom performance and identify strategies to best support your child's academic growth.
Please contact our Testing Coordinator, Mr. Metzgar, qmetzgar@ccboe.com, if you have any questions regarding your child’s individual MCAP score report(s).
